11TH PROFESSIONAL COMMITTEE MEMBER MEETING AT KÜTAHYA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (KUTSO)

Esteemed Chief Treasurer,
Distinguished Members of our Board of Directors,
Esteemed Chairman of our Professional Committee and Valued Committee Members,
Dear Members,

I extend my respectful and cordial greetings to you all. Welcome.

Today, we are gathered here with the valued members of our 11th Professional Group, which represents critically important sectors such as insurance, real estate, banking, money changing and jewellery—sectors that constitute the very foundation of trust, financial stability and commercial dynamism in our city’s economic life.

Our Professional Group operates in fields that directly influence the financial security, investment decisions and economic sustainability of both our citizens and our businesses, at individual as well as corporate levels. In this respect, our committee is not merely a commercial structure; it is also one of the main supporting pillars of economic order and social trust. This is because every process functioning across this broad spectrum—from insurance and banking to real estate and jewellery—directly shapes the sense of confidence and perception of stability within the city’s economy.

We are holding today’s meeting not solely to identify challenges, but to strengthen collective wisdom, clarify the demands arising from the field, and jointly shape solution pathways. Every issue discussed here, when conveyed through the appropriate channels, will both facilitate the functioning of the sector and enhance the predictability of the city’s economy.

On this occasion, I would particularly like to express my sincere thanks to the Honourable Chief Treasurer of Kütahya, Ms Hatice İşcen Ercoşman, for honouring us with her presence. Bringing public authorities and sector representatives together at the same table is of great value in terms of addressing issues directly with their rightful counterparts, based on accurate information and on a sound footing. This cooperation will also increase both the speed and the quality of our solution-building capacity.

Dear Members,

Based on the meetings held by our Professional Committee and the feedback received from our members, the key issues conveyed to our Board of Directors include differences in implementation arising from legislation, uncertainties encountered during inspection processes, financial obligations and implementation principles affecting sectoral activities, capital mobility, combating the informal economy, and expectations regarding the preservation of sectoral trust.

In particular, the on-the-ground impacts of differing practices in the insurance and real estate sectors; the alignment of financial regulations with sectoral realities in the jewellery and money-changing fields; and, on the banking side, matters affecting the business community’s access to finance and transaction processes have been examined with great care by our committee and duly submitted to our Board of Directors. Each of these matters is not merely a sector-specific issue, but also a question of trust, transparency and sustainability.

I would like to underline the following point especially:
As a Chamber, we do not confine ourselves to merely recording the issues conveyed by our committees. We regard it as a fundamental responsibility to communicate each matter to the relevant institutions, to follow it up, and to keep it on the agenda until tangible results are achieved. This is because what the business community needs is not processes that increase uncertainty, but a framework that strengthens predictability.

Our expectation from you today is to share openly and clearly the current challenges you encounter in the field, the disruptions experienced in practice, and the effects that legislation creates in real-life application. Every view expressed here will, together with the assessments of our 11th Professional Committee, first be submitted to our Board of Directors and subsequently conveyed to the relevant public institutions.

Dear Members,

Trust, stability and sustainability are of paramount importance to Kütahya’s economic structure—and you are among the most significant actors within this structure. As a Chamber, our aim is to contribute to the creation of an environment that facilitates your work, enhances predictability, strengthens a fair ground in the fight against the informal economy, and further consolidates sectoral trust.

I thank you all for your participation, contributions and valuable insights, and I wish our meeting to be productive, solution-oriented and result-driven.

Yours sincerely,
